The Apprentices Amy Anzel says Lord Sugar was intimidated by fired candidate

The Apprentice's Amy Anzel has said that she thinks Lord Sugar was "intimidated" by a candidate's intelligence before firing them.

The third week of the BBC One business show saw online antiques marketplace owner, Gregory Ebbs, fired by Lord Alan Sugar.

Shropshire-based Gregory failed to impress Lord Sugar after he "struggled" with the task of creating a new preschool cartoon to pitch to industry experts.

"Gregory by your own admission you struggled with the task. In business you need to adapt.

"It is with regret Gregory, that you're fired," Lord Sugar revealed to the candidates when he fired the 25-year-old hopeful.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star following the third episode of the new series, Amy Anzel – who shot to fame in the 2022 series of the show – revealed her thoughts.

"I don't understand why Gregory was fired," she admitted to us.

"I think maybe Lord Sugar was intimidated by his intelligence, his class and he thought that perhaps they wouldn't work well together – like chalk and cheese."

She went on: "But, in any case, he fired the wrong person and that is a travesty."

Although she thinks the "real travesty" is "the fact that cartoon was seen by millions and millions and millions of people in the UK".

Amy shot to fame last January when she appeared on the popular BBC One programme headed up by Lord Sugar, and was allegedly "banned" from the final.

The Hollywood Beauty Browzer business owner, 49, recently backed up the claims that she was "banned" from the final while chatting with us last year.

She spoke of being treated "unfairly", adding: "I remember in the boardroom once Lord Sugar said 'you're so thick' to me initially, in one of the first boardrooms."

The Apprentice continues on BBC One and iPlayer this Thursday
