The Big Breakfast viewers were left loving the nostalgia as Zippy returned to our screens.

The fictional puppet first appeared in 1972 on children’s television programme Rainbow, but today, the man behind Zippy’s voice returned to Channel 4.

In a game of guessing the mystery guest, Emma was quick to guess: ‘Is it Zippy?’ after hints that the guest was known for his voice, but not voiceovers.

Ronnie Le Drew pulled out the iconic puppet and brought Zippy back, saying, in his Zippy voice: ‘Hello everybody, we’re all puppets here.’

‘AJ you’ve got an earpiece in your right ear, yes,’ Zippy told AJ Odudu before Mo Gilligan pleaded: ‘Talk to me!’

It’s safe to say, viewers loved the throwback moment.

The series, which launched in 2018, is set to continue later this year for a third season, as The Voice UK and former Big Brother presenter resumes her role as a qualified Maternity Care Assistant.

Speaking to The Big Breakfast hosts AJ and Mo, the mum-of-three looked back on a picture of the first baby she helped to deliver for series one.

‘I love how you say helped deliver, I just watched,’ Emma joked as those in The Big Breakfast house cooed at the adorable picture.

‘And today we’ve got a surprise for you,’ Mo announced, as AJ introduced ‘baby Aria’, who walked out to a very stunned Emma.

The model was completely speechless as she recreated the moment with Aria, even wearing scrubs.

‘So cute!’ AJ exclaimed.

The Big Breakfast is available to watch on All4 and continues next Saturday from 10am on Channel 4.
