The Chase star Mark Labbett branded some viewers “idiots” after a player’s controversial move on the ITV show.

Mark, known as The Beast, joined host Bradley Walsh and players James, Rob, Ellie and Lesley as they battled it out to win a cash prize. After Lesley was booted off first having been caught by The Beast – it was tea blender Ellie’s turn to take on the quiz master.

After a dismal cash builder round, bagging only £2k for the prize pot, she was offered a low offer of £1000 or a high offer of £32k. After consulting with her team mates, they all agreed that there was “not much difference” between the low offer and her £2k – and she opted to take the £1k low offer.

Often when a low offer is chose, viewers at home lambast the player on social media and criticize their gameplay. But before they could get the chance, Mark gave them a stern telling to.

He said: “For all you idiots as at home screaming to take the high offer or stick with the £2k – you idiots. The £1k is the obvious thing to pick here.”

Fans immediately took to X to reply to the chaser. “We’re right and you’rewrong!…!” blasted one fan.

“No. Never go low. Ever,” penned a second, while a third said: “it’s makes sense to take the low offer “ Yeah of course it does, that way the chaser doesn’t look such a plum if they win cash!”
