This Morning’s Phillip Schofield makes brutal hidden camera dig at Matt Hancock

This Morning's Phillip Schofield has made a cheeky dig toward Matt Hancock as the former Health Secretary heads into the ITV jungle to join the other big-name stars.

However, this news has left fans divided with many claiming he shouldn't be going in.

On This Morning, host Phil and co-star Holly Willoughby welcomed former politician Alan Johnson on to talk about his new book and Matt's news.

Alan claimed that this was a "poor" decision and said he shouldn't be going in as his constituents won't be able to contact him regarding important matters.

He argued that other politicians who have done reality shows such as Ed Balls and Anne Widdecombe on Strictly – were out of the line of work.

Alan then joked that Matt will be after Phil's job on This Morning and said: "He will be a TV star – he will be after your job, Phil."

Whereas Phil cheekily responded: "Our cameras are quite upfront, he's used to hidden cameras, you think he'd have had enough of those."

Phil's remark is due Matt being caught on CCTV camera kissing aide Gina Colangelo by his office door during the height of Covid restrictions – after laying down strict lockdown rules himself.

Viewers took to social media to share their thoughts on Matt joining the jungle.

One fan wrote: "Matt Hancock is clueless #ThisMorning."

A second added: "A kangaroo c*ck is about to get eaten… by another c*ck. What a world. #ThisMorning."

While a third added: "Right so can we get over that Hancock is going on the jungle (yes the man's a kn*b) but can we concentrate on the people that are running the country please.

"I feel like it's slightly taking the pressure off the govt to sort their s**t out! #ThisMorning."

A fourth shared: "You just know Matt Hancock is going to get voted to do every single trial going. The rest of the campmates must have been rubbing their hands in glee when they found out he was going in! #thismorning."

A fifth put: "Hancock has never watched I’m a Celeb has he? He’s just seeing ££££££ and thinking he’s going on a Cub Scout camp out… #ThisMorning."

"Can’t wait to see him scream when snakes go near him in trials #ThisMorning," a sixth posted.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
