JEREMY Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm Shop was closed when a thief snuck inside, it has been revealed.

The shoplifter stole a £41 can of Clarkson's Gin in a Tin while his accomplice distracted a staff member.


They struck on Tuesday, when the shop was closed for restocking.

The door to the shop had been left ajar, letting the pair slip in behind a female worker.

A worker at the farm told the Mail: "'Jeremy was fuming when he found out what had happened.

"I can't repeat exactly what Jeremy said when he found out, but it would be fair to say he was not very happy.

Clarkson, 63, shared CCTV footage of the shoplifter helping themselves to a bottle of pink Juniper, Beetroot, Apple and Dill gin.

The short clip, shared on his Instagram, was accompanied by the caption: "This man came 'shopping' at the farm shop. I would like to meet the cu".

The video shows a man dressed in a black cap with a dark gilet over a long-sleeved top walking around the shop.

He is then seen reaching for a bottle of alcohol on a shelf, before looking around and placing it inside his jacket.

The man continues to look around at other items and shelves, while a second is understood to have been stood at the till.

One of the men is understood to have purchased £69 worth of items from the shop, while the other man stole goods valued at around £80.

The two men arrived at the shop at around 4.15pm on Tuesday, before leaving together in a vehicle and driving in the firection of Burford, West Oxfordshire.

Police are investigating the incident following a report of shoplifting.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "We received a report of shoplifting at Diddly Squat Farm Shop in Chipping Norton Road, Chadlington, at around 4.15pm yesterday.

"Two men entered the shop after arriving in the same vehicle.

"One went to the till and bought £69-worth of goods while the other stole two bottles of alcohol and another unknown item, worth around £80.
