‘BECKHAM’ documentary series: official trailer
Victoria and David Beckham might be up there when it comes to the most famous showbiz couple but it hasn’t been completely plain sailing for the two.
After 25 years together to pair have been hit with a series of claims from bitter feuds, kidnap threats and even affair allegations – but they have still come out on top nevertheless.
Where did it all begin?
David and Victoria both grew up 15 minutes from each other in London, but they didn’t actually meet until years later when Victoria went to one of David’s Manchester United football matches with pal and Spice Girls co-star Mel C in 1997.
A year later the two love birds announced they were engaged and expecting their first child, Brooklyn Beckham.

The same year, the duo tied the knot at the extravagant Luttrellstown Castle in Dublin in July which saw them splash out a whopping £750,000 on their big day.
David and Victoria opted for a Disney-themed wedding cake and sat on thrones while wearing two matching outfits for their star-studded guests to witness.
But, just several years after their special day, the couple would be faced with their first block in the road.
Death threats and kidnap plot
At the 1998 World Cup England was up against Argentina when David got sent off, this mistake would cost him a “pretty brutal” next few months.
Following on from England’s devastating loss on penalties, the couple were subjected to stalkers before the situation worsened and they began getting death threats.
Letters were sent to their Hertfordshire mansion – dubbed Beckingham Palace – which contained pictures of the couple and their baby son Brooklyn, who had blood pouring from a bullet wound in his head.
Just when the pair thought it couldn’t get any worse, four men and a woman were arrested by Scotland Yard following a “sting” operation with a newspaper which later fabricated plans to kidnap Posh Spice.
Kidnappers had planned to also kidnap Brooklyn and a young Romeo if they had also been with Victoria at the time which understandably left them “really shaken up”.

Affair allegations
Things however, went from bad to worse for the couple after they were hit with allegations that David had been unfaithful.
Having relocated to Real Madrid following his move from Manchester United, David sacked his former personal assistant Rebecca Loos who later went on to make unproven claims of an alleged affair with the footballing legend.
In 2004, Rebecca went one step further and made the decision to sell a story to the former tabloid News of the World, claiming that she had an affair with David while he was married to Victoria.
Her claims were never proven and firmly denied by David, who released a statement, which read: “During the past few months I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life.
“The simple truth is that I am very happily married. I have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change these facts.”
After the affair saga, the pair decided to head stateside, setting up a home in Los Angeles after David signed for LA Galaxy in 2007.
Following years of documenting their lives on reality shows and starting to build their international brand, the couple, who had three sons, Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 18, welcomed their first daughter Harper, 12.
Following years of torment and just two years before their 20th anniversary, the couple decided they wanted to wipe the slate clean and say “I do” again as they renewed their wedding vows in front of a handful of guests in 2017.
Bitter feud
Despite being happy as ever the couple were hit with yet another bump in the road – this time hounded with allegations that there had been a major rift between the family and actress Nicola Peltz ahead of her marriage to their eldest son Brooklyn.

Although the former pop star had remained tight-lipped about the rumoured drama, Nicola later discussed a conversation with Victoria about her wedding dress.
In an interview, she explained that Victoria phoned her mum to explain that her personal “atelier couldn’t make the dress” ahead of her wedding to their son, which meant that she had to wear a Valentino outfit for her big day.
However, she later appeared to suggest that there were no hard feelings between herself and the singer-turned-fashion designer.
Beckham is available to stream now on Netflix.
