WATERLOO Road actress Katherine Pearce was brutally honest about filming her drunken kiss with co-star Adam Thomas.

The Amy Spratt actress was candid about her "utterly embarrassing and shameful" scenes with the soap heartthrob.


Katherine plays the recently qualified drama teacher Amy Pratt in the revived BBC drama.

The new Waterloo Road series stars returning fan favourite character Donte Charles, played by Adam Thomas.

Viewers were left cringing during the second episode of the popular drama when Amy made a move on Donte by inviting herself round his house for drinks.

After a drunken kiss, Amy headed upstairs into Donte's bed and stripped naked as she waited for him.

Donte was left shocked and rejected Amy, who is left feeling embarrassed.

Actress Katherine revealed the brutal reality of filming these scenes.

Talking to the Daily Star, Katherine she had “loads of time to feel the utter embarrassment and shame.”

She recalled the hunky Adam was "a really kind man and we had a good time together,” noting that he is a “very good looking man.

Talking about what's next for Amy, Katherine teased: “A lot of growing, a lot of trying and failing, trying and failing.

"A lot of triumph over adversity, just as a new teacher finding how you do it, how you deal with staff and life.”

Viewers took to Twitter to share their wincing reactions to the awkward Amy and Donte scenes.

One tweeted: "The Amy/Donte storyline was actually hard to watch I had to skip it at points cause I couldn't bare the second hand embarrassment."

Another said: "The awkwardness between Donte & Amy is palpable."

A third commented: "That's a tad desperate, Amy. Chill out, babes."

BBC rebooted the much-loved tv series after eight years off the air.

The first series of the rebooted show premiered in January and was a hit with viewers.

The second series premiered just four months later in May.

Fans were stunned to see a returning favourite character from the original series, Andrew Treneman (Jamie Glover).

It was revealed that Andrew was the head teacher in a neighbouring school.

Viewers know that Andrew had a steamy on-and-off relationship with the current Waterloo Road headteacher Kim Campbell (Angela Griffin).

Will they rekindle their romance once again?

Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement for the return of Andrew.
