IDRIS Elba fans around the world were thrilled when it was revealed he was reprising his much-loved role of Luther.
Called Luther: The Fallen Sun, the movie version of the hit BBC series may have viewers wondering where it was filmed.
Where was Luther: The Fallen Sun filmed?
London
Luther: The Fallen Sun sticks to the TV shows original roots and was filmed in London.
The capital features heavily in the movie with leading actor Idris Elba seen filming in landmarks like Chinatown, Fleet Street, and Piccadilly Circus.
A fighting scene from the movie was also filmed at the abandoned Aldwych Tube Station.
This London underground station was originally opened in 1907, but has been closed since 1994.

Dorset
The prison that Luther finds himself in at the start of the film is HM Prison Dorchester which is located down in Dorset.
The former jail closed down in 2014, which meant the production team had to go to town to get it ready for the movie.
This included repainting three floors, as well as replicating all the historic Victorian locks and jail cells.
Europe
The movie also used a selection of European locations.

A segment of the film was shot in Iceland, and it was reported that the cast and crew were able to witness the Northern Lights.
Other key location that was used was the Lite Studios in Brussels, Belgium.
Where is Luther: The Fallen Sun set?
Just like the hit BBC One TV show, Luther: The Fallen Sun is set in London.
The film sees a gruesome serial killer terrorising the capital, while the brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther (Idris Elba) sits behind bars.
Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of jail to finish the job by any means necessary.
How can I watch Luther: The Fallen Sun?
Luther fans will be able to watch the movie on Netflix.
The film – which runs for 2 hours and 9 minutes – will drop on the streaming site on March 10, 2023 at 8am.
