Mike Tindall, 44, who is married to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Phillips, is the first member of the royal family to sign up to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. Despite claims King Charles III didn’t know about him taking part and reportedly wouldn’t have approved, he will enter the jungle this weekend with nine other famous faces.

While it’s likely the royal family will remain tight-lipped about Mike being on the show, Princess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi hasn’t shied away from sending his support.

Taking to Instagram, he shared a series of jungle-related emojis such as trees and caterpillars on Mike’s latest picture of him in jungle gear, seemingly excited for his stint.

The rare comment received 46 likes on the constestant’s profile, which has 208,000 followers.

Alongside his fellow celebrities, Mike will have been stripped of his luxuries ahead of going into camp, so a loved one is currently operating his account.

Unlike his campmates, Mike has refused to reveal his phobias ahead of entering the jungle.

He described himself as “an open book” and a “positive person” who will be the “morning motivator” of the jungle.

Speaking to ITV, he added he would like to see everyone get along.

Mike’s former rugby co-star James Haskell has warned Mike about the lack of food in camp and how it can affect the body and mind.

But insisting all will be good, the ex sportsman said: “I am eight years out of the game now so I am a bit more realistic about food, but I know James said the lack of food can sometimes be hard.

“But at least with the eating trials, you get food in you!

“It might not taste very nice but at least it is serving a purpose and giving you a protein intake. Bring on those challenges.”

Mike will be joined Down Under by; Boy George, Charlene White, Owen Warner, Scarlette Douglas, Chris Moyles, Jill Scott, Babatunde Aleshe, Olivia Attwood and Sue Cleaver.

Following Mike’s signing, a royal source claimed King Charles wouldn’t have approved of him going onto the show.

They told the Mail online: “The King was not consulted about I’m A Celebrity, and certainly wouldn’t have approved.”

Upon landing at Brisbane airport, he refused to divulge any information about the the monarch’s reaction.

The father-of-three did reveal however that Australia was a “special place” for him as it’s where he met Zara.

The pair tied the knot back in 2011 and share three children together; Mia, eight, Lena, four and one-year-old Lucas.

“The family I will miss the most of course,” he told press. “This will probably be the longest time I have been away.

“Not having communication, that will be the hardest bit.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! kicks off on November 6 at 9pm on ITV.
