GREAT British Bake Off is back for another series, with 12 bakers showing off their skills in the famous tent.

One of those that hope to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith is Rebs.

Who is Great British Bake Off 2022 contestant Rebs?

Rebs is a 23-year-old masters student who hails from County Antrim.

She spent her childhood in the countryside in Northern Ireland and loves everything to do with Irish culture – she can Irish dance and play the tin whistle.

Her earliest baking memory is of being a child, aged only three years old, helping her mum in the kitchen, as well as eating her granny’s renowned lemon meringue pies.

She enjoys baking as a way to unwind from the stress of a busy life in the tech world.

Flavour is paramount for her, and she has more recently started to play around with Middle Eastern ingredients – in a nod to her boyfriend Jack’s Turkish family heritage.

Talking about her first reaction when she learned she’d bagged a place on Great British Bake Off, she told Channel 4: "I never ever actually dreamed I would get into the tent!

"I grew up watching the show for years with my mum and, after only really taking up baking in 2020.

"I wasn’t sure I would have had what it takes to make it to the final 12 (but thankfully I did!)."

Rebs is an avid user of Instagram, and has just over 1K followers (as of September 2022), which is bound to be boosted by going on GBBO.

On her channel @rebsbakes she posted pictures of all her yummy cakes and bakes.

When is Great British Bake Off 2022 on TV?

The new season of The Great British Bake off begins on Channel 4 on Tuesday, September 13,at 8pm – and will continue at this time on Tuesday nights.

The bakers will be tasked with their first signature, Technical and Showstopper challenges.
