Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) gets a welcomed surprise in upcoming Coronation Street episodes.
If anyone needs a break, it’s Yasmeen. A few years ago, she began a relationship with Geoff Metcalfe who turned out to be abusive and controlling towards her. Yasmeen then ended up in prison after defending herself during a confrontation with Geoff and then watched him die as the evil character fell from the roof of their home during the soap’s 60th anniversary episodes.
After healing, Yasmeen’s emotions were tested when she met Stu (Bill Fellows) and found out that he had been in prison for murder.
Yasmeen was reminded of her entire ordeal with Geoff but fortunately, Stu turned out to be a good man, with Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) proving that he was wrongly sent behind bars as his daughter Bridget actually committed the crime.
Recently, Yasmeen has been on hand to support Stu, who is convinced that Eliza (Savannah Kunyo) shouldn’t speak with her father Dom.
It’s this situation that leaves Yasmeen hesitant in upcoming episodes, as she tells Stu that Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) is planning to take her to Pakistan for her 70th birthday, but doesn’t want to leave him in the middle of the stress surrounding Dom and Eliza.
Stu insists that she must go as it’ll be the trip of a lifetime, but how will things look when Yasmeen returns?
