Bombshells are aplenty in the Yellowstone season five trailer released by Paramount on Thursday. From John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) sworn in as governor and all-new roles for Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) as part of his campaign to an uncertain future between Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Monica Dutton (Kelsey Asbille), there’s plenty to send excitement levels rising. However, a split-second shot could hint at an exit for one of the bunkhouse’s most lovable characters, Teeter (Jen Landon).

Teeter has a rather scaled-back presence throughout the new Yellowstone trailer, despite actor Landon being upped to a series regular for the new season.

Over the past few seasons, Teeter has certainly made herself a pivotal cog in John Dutton’s ranching machine and endeared herself to the fanbase thanks to her quirks and romance with fellow rancher, Colby (Denim Richards).

But the season five trailer is instead dominated by John’s new role as Governor and the enemies he’ll face, from Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) to Caroline Warner (Jacki Weaver).

There is a brief sighting of Teeter though, but it doesn’t look like it bodes well for fans of the lovable ranch hand.

As the new Yellowstone trailer edges towards its climax, split-second shots show Teeter attacking one of her bunkmates.

While donning nothing but a towel, Teeter can be seen shoving Ryan (Ian Bohen) off of his chair.

What exactly causes Teeter to physically assault her fellow bunkmates isn’t revealed, but it clearly leaves everyone else reeling.

Her other half Colby is just one of the other bunkmates sitting at the table and he can be seen gasping in shock at his girlfriend’s outburst.

Whatever Ryan may have done to prompt Teeter to react in such a way would be seen as irrelevant in the eyes of ranch manager Rip (Cole Hauser).

The show’s resident enforcer and hard man has one rule for the bunkmates – no fighting.

And if they ever wish to fight, they have to go through Rip or face a last-man-standing bout in plain sight of everyone – fans saw this with Walker (Ryan Bingham) and Lloyd (Forrie J Smith) in season four.

However, Teeter is already on thin ice after John banished all women from the bunkhouse in season four following Lloyd and Walker’s feud over Laramie (Hassie Harrison).

Seeing as Teeter clearly hasn’t taken on board the warning about fighting, it’s unlikely John will be lenient in his response.

After all, he only let her return to the bunkhouse when he discovered she was branded.

With the trailer confirming she’ll attack Ryan, could fans, therefore, be expecting a tearful farewell as punishment?

Or, even worse, could John or Rip be forced into giving Teeter a one-way ticket to the ’train station’?

Fans will have to wait until season five arrives to be sure for certain but the clues certainly don’t paint a pretty picture for Teeter.

And Yellowstone is no stranger to killing off some of its biggest names in years gone by.

From Garrett Randall (Will Patton) and Lee Dutton (Dave Annable) to Dan Jenkins (Danny Huston) and Roarke (Josh Holloway), Yellowstone casualties have piled up over the years.

Teeter fans can now only hope her actions won’t result in her name being added to the long list.

Yellowstone season 5 premieres on the Paramount Network in the USA on Sunday, November 13 and Paramount+ in the UK on Monday, November 14.
