A $100m flop? Harry and Meghan fails to make list of Netflix’s top 10 shows in the US but Love Island, Too Hot to Handle and The Crown all make the cut
- Most watched in the US is Wednesday, the new Addams Family series with Catherine Zeta Jones
- After that comes Firefly Lane and Too Hot To Handle – a reality show which pays promiscuous young contestants to abstain from sex
- The Crown was the tenth most watched this morning a month after its release
- Harry and Meghan’s docuseries is now buried under the ‘new releases’ section
- Netflix is rumored to have paid the couple $100million for a multi-show deal
- Reviews of the first three episodes have been scathing in the UK and the US
Harry and Meghan’s $100million Netflix docuseries has failed to break into the list of the top 10 shows in the US.
In fact the couple’s docuseries – which was widely promoted on the Netflix landing page yesterday after the release of the first three episodes – is now buried under the ‘new releases’ section.
The first three episodes aired yesterday and renewed the couple’s fight against the Royal family.
But while the couple makes a series of disparaging remarks against Harry’s family and repeat their complaints of racism towards Meghan and bullying by the British press, the first three episodes contain fewer bombshells than were expected.
Netflix has not yet released the figures for how many viewers tuned in to the first three episodes. It remains unclear how it compares to blockbusters like Stranger Thing, Wednesday and Squid Game.
Most watched in the US this week is Wednesday, the new series about The Addams Family, followed by Firefly Lane and Too Hot To Handle – a reality show which challenges promiscuous young contestants to abstain from sex for a cash prize.

Love Island is currently ranked higher than the docuseries, and The Crown – the adored series about the Royal family – remains in the top 10 a month after the release of its fifth series.
Netflix was reported to have paid Harry and Meghan $100million as part of a deal to produce multiple shows and series.
But a year after they striking that partnership, the streaming giant canceled Meghan’s planned elephant series, Pearl.
The six-episode docuseries seems now to be what the entire deal rests on.
Netflix has not yet released viewership numbers for the first three episodes of the series.
The series made no major bombshells but was a look at the couple’s early romance in 2016.
Harry complained about his family’s ‘unconscious bias’ and said he had to leave the family officially to ‘protect’ his own.
There were scenes in which the couple were filmed in a car.
