Have you seen missing Alice? Mother appeals for missing 18-year-old who disappeared four days ago to come back home – as police issue new CCTV appeal

  • Alice ‘Alex’ Bendall, 18, vanished in Dorchester, Dorset, on Saturday evening
  • Dorset Police have released last-known CCTV image of the teenager in Tesco
  • The disappearance has been described as ‘completely out of character’

Police frantically searching for a teenager who has been missing for four days have issued a new CCTV image.

Alice Bendall, who is known as Alex, was last seen leaving Tesco in Dorchester, Dorset, at about 7.30pm on Saturday.

The 18-year-old was reported missing at 3pm the following day, with the disappearance described as ‘completely out of character’.

Extensive searches of the area are taking place involving National Police Air Service, Dorset Search and Rescue, Wiltshire Search and Rescue, Dorset Search Dogs, Hampshire Search & Rescue Dogs and Wessex 4×4.

Officers are making house-to-house enquiries and are asking motorists to check their dashcam footage for possible sightings of the missing person.

Alice was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark coloured jeans, Dr. Martens boots, a bracelet and was carrying a small backpack

Alice is described as 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, with short brown hair.

Alice was last seen wearing a black jacket with a denim body and black fabric sleeves, dark coloured jeans, Dr. Martens boots with a green lace and purple lace on each foot, a bracelet over the cuff on the right arm and was carrying a small backpack.

Chief Inspector Darren Harris, of Dorset Police, said: ‘We have been carrying out a large number of searches and I am grateful to our partner and voluntary agencies for their ongoing help.

Anyone with knowledge of Alice’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk/contact or by calling 101, quoting incident number 12:319

‘Following enquiries, we have now located CCTV footage of Alice in Tesco in Weymouth Avenue at around 7.30pm on Saturday, February 11, and I would ask anyone who was in the area around that time and may have information to assist us to please get in touch.

‘I am also appealing to any motorists who were travelling in the vicinity with a dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for any possible sightings.

‘Finally, I would like to renew my appeal to Alice directly – if you see this appeal, please get in touch with us or your family as we all just want to ensure you are safe and well.’
