Man with 'embarrassing' list of goals on home screen claims lost phone

Man who lost his phone at Perisher ski resort with ’embarrassing’ list of goals as his lock screen – including ‘getting jacked’ and having a ‘roster of three girls’ – comes forward to claim his device

  • A skier has come forward to collect his lost phone
  • The owner’s ‘goals’ list on the lock screen had been shared
  • He wanted to achieve eight humble things

A determined skier with a peculiar set of life goals is able to cross getting his phone back off the list after his lock screen image went viral.

Perisher, Australia’s biggest ski resort, confirmed that a man came forward to claim the phone which was easily recognisable due to the eight life goals its owner had saved onto the lock screen.

The device had been found mid-way down the resort’s Front Valley before a helpful skier posted it to a community group asking the owner to come and collect it.

The picture of the skier’s life goals was hailed as ‘the post of the season’ by commenters who doubted anyone would own up to the embarrassing find.

Among the skier’s goals was getting ‘jacked’, having routine haircuts, and enlisting a roster of women that he could call upon.

Although the owner of the phone faced scrutiny online for his humble dreams, marketing manager Maddi Ventura said the resort was happy to help return it.

‘Fortunately, we were able to return the phone to its rightful owner and we wish this guest all the best with achieving his goals,’ Ms Ventura told News.com.au.

‘While we don’t know the guest’s reaction to the virality of the phone, we can confirm he was happy to be reunited with his phone.

‘Just a reminder to hold on to your belongings on the slopes!’

What were the goals?

1. Get jacked and be at 87 kgs

2. Quit all nicotine

3. Have $25,000 in bank account

4. Have motorbike

5. Getting better at fighting

6. Get good marks at uni

7. Have three girls on roster

8. Don’t get haircut for 3 months

The to-do list was first posted in a popular skiing community group before quickly spreading across websites and group chats.

Comments ranged from sarcastic to demeaning as the to-do list was admired by anyone who could relate to it.

‘Oh to be young again to have such life goals,’ one person said.

‘They are phenomenal goals, nothing to be embarrassed about here,’ another added.

Others faced reality and began poking fun at the phone’s owner.

‘No one will want to own up to owning this phone,’ a third person said.

‘I’d be almost embarrassed to claim the lost phone … almost,’ said another.

Finally there was the corner of the internet that focused on the likelihood of the owner achieving one particular item on the list.

‘$25K and have three girls on the roster lol tell him he’s dreaming,’ one person scolded.

‘Three girls on roster? You sure do wanna get better at fighting,’ a second suggested.

The most liked comment on the original post sang to the same tune: ‘Whoever claims this girls … run!!’

Perisher, however, embraced the opportunity to make an aspirational list of its own.

Staff at the ski resort also wanted to get jacked (training for Slush Cup), but swapped out the motorbike with a Subaru, and instead opted to recruit three girls to shred slopes with.

‘It’s always nice to have goals, so we were inspired to create our own here at Perisher. There’s nothing like shredding with the girls on a bluebird day – we’ve had a lot lately!’ Ms Ventura added.
