Met Office issues snow and ice warnings across UK

The Met Office has updated its yellow weather warnings to include new alerts for an incoming bitter chill. 

The warnings in place for Friday and Saturday will now last the whole weekend. 

Britons have been told to expect a deep freeze, with wintry showers pounding on England, Wales and Scotland. 

Some parts of the country will also see increased snowfall.
