The father of Paris Hilton’s newborn son has a 10-year-old daughter who he abandoned in the delivery room and has had no contact since the day she was born.

Carter Reum was there for the birth of little Evie, but he walked out straight after she came into the world, a source close to Evie’s mom, former reality star Laura Belizzi, told DailyMail.com

‘Within minutes of her arrival, he held her, kissed her on the forehead, handed her back to her mother and left,’ the source said.

‘Evie has not seen nor heard from her Carter since.’

Paris, 41, shared the news of their baby boy on Instagram, sharing a photo of the new mom clutching onto her infant’s hand

And now Evie is fretting that her dad will do the same to the baby boy who was born via surrogate.

Paris, 41, made the shock announcement that she and Carter are now parents last week.

‘It’s always been my dream to be a mother and I’m so happy that Carter and I found each other,’ she told People. ‘We are so excited to start our family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy.’

The name of the child has not been released.

But the news left young Evie wondering if her estranged father would reject her baby brother the same way he did her, and if she would ever get to meet either of them. 

Reum, 41, was revealed to have had a ‘secret’ daughter with Bellizzi – who appeared on the short-lived VH1 reality show Secrets of Aspen in 2010 – just days after he married Hilton in a lavish wedding in Bel Air in November 2021.

The couple had briefly dated in 2011 but split before Bellizzi, 46, discovered she was pregnant. At the time, there was speculation the baby was fathered by Mel Gibson, who she also dated for a short time, but both sides adamantly denied that. 

Reum does pay child support for his daughter but, the source said, Evie has nowhere near the lifestyle he has’.

‘It’s not even close. He buys fancy trips and diamonds for his wife and a million-dollar nursery for his newborn.’ 

Reum is worth an estimated $40million, after co-founding investment company M13 with his brother Courtney, 43. They also founded the liquor brand VEEV Spirits together.

Their father, Robert Reum, was head of Amstead Industries, one of the largest private companies in the United States. 

Meanwhile, hotel heiress Paris is worth an estimated $300million.

But for all their money, Reum has given his daughter nothing, said the source. 

‘Carter has never once acknowledged Evie or given her so much as a birthday card or a Christmas present,’ the source said. 

‘He has never given her even one gift.’

‘Evie doesn’t really care,’ the source claimed. ‘She just wants a relationship with him.’

The young girl has been so desperate to meet her father, days after his wedding she even offered him a ‘chance’ to reconcile and asked if she could be part of his life in a heartbreaking open letter obtained by DailyMail.com. 

The handwritten note read: ‘Dear dad, how are you?’

‘I would just like to say a few things and I would really like if we could actually have a relationship and I would like to give you a second chance even though you have hurt me so much,’ she wrote.

‘I would also like to meet the rest of my family. I still have hurt and anger to work through, but I’m trying to set it aside. Because if you choose to respond to me I will be so happy. If you don’t, my heart will still be broken, but I know you will really be missing out because I’m awesome.’

She signed the letter: ‘I love you, Evie.’

Reum, however, never replied. 

‘The internationally published open letter she wrote to him last year, with the help of her therapeutic team went unanswered,’ the source said. 

‘Thus, all ‘their’ hands are dirty in Evie’s abandonment. Carter ignored a little girl’s courageous overture for a relationship. His entire supposedly tight-knit family has ignored her too.

She was recently forced to clarify the status of their IVF journey after her mother Kathy Hilton claimed the pair were struggling to conceive; Paris and Kathy seen in November 2021 

‘It speaks volumes to the overall character of both Paris and Carter’s elitist and affluent families. Shame on them for hurting an innocent child.

At the same time, Evie is a strong girl who has maintain a positive attitude while living a ‘regular, modest life,’ according to the source.

‘She sees it squarely as ‘their’ loss because she knows she’s an ‘awesome’ kid with a big heart,’ the source said. ‘She is a remarkable child filled with empathy.’

In a swipe at Hilton and her ultra-lavish lifestyle, the source said: ‘Instead of buying designer doggies and handbags, she (Evie) volunteers her time working with animal rescue organizations, because she loves any opportunity to interact with animals.’

‘And while she hasn’t given up hope that her father will come around, she is keen to heal through helping other kids like herself deal with the ambiguous grief absentee parents (like Carter) inflict upon their children.’

‘Despite the comparable global level of rejection she is experiencing at the hands of her own father and stepmother, she is strong, brilliant and empathetic,’ the source said. 

‘She feels more sorry for them than she does herself. Because they are ‘missing something inside their hearts.’ And as a consequence, they are missing out on one of the most important things in life, something all their trust fund leveraged millions cannot buy, a relationship with her.’

While Bellizzi has declined to comment and requested privacy, the source said: ‘The mother would be supportive of a healthy relationship that is guided by reunification therapists.’  

Reum did not immediately return DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
