Ryan Giggs was spotted out and about for a coffee with a friend as he plans his future after the court case against him for domestic violence was dropped.

The ex-Manchester United player, 49, was even seen signing a football shirt for autograph hunters in one of the first appearances of him since being cleared last week.

The celeb is hoping to revive his football career after leaving his Wales managerial job in the run-up to a World Cup while facing trial – saying he has ‘unfinished business’ in the game.

Giggs was facing charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm over an alleged headbutt on his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville, 38, plus further counts of coercive or controlling behaviour against her and common assault against her sister Emma.

In photographs taken today he can be seen strolling past a breakfast cafe with his phone in hand.

He wore a grey jumper, beige chino shorts and navy and white trainers.

In a 10-minute court hearing last Tuesday, the prosecution offered no evidence of the charges against Giggs, with Judge Hilary Manley saying: ‘I formally enter not guilty verdicts in respect of each of the three counts.’

Chris Daw KC, defending Giggs, said his client is ‘deeply relieved the prosecution has finally come to an end after almost three years in which he’s been fighting throughout to clear his name’, adding: ‘He has always been innocent of these charges – there’s been very, very many lies told about him in court.’

The case began to fall apart in May, when Ms Greville said she did not want to testify due to the effects of the process on her ‘mental and physical well-being.’

The charges against the ex-Manchester United footballer, 49, were withdrawn by the Crown Prosecution Service at a hearing at Manchester Crown Court

However, lawyers for Giggs said he ‘did not buy’ her reasoning, insisting the prosecution was put off by new information uncovered by the defence, including a cosmetic procedure to have lip fillers on or around the day of the alleged headbutt.

This was several days before she was pictured with apparently swollen and bruised lips as a result of the alleged attack.

The news comes amid claims Giggs – who co-owns League Two Salford alongside ex-United stars David Beckham, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes – is now plotting a remarkable football comeback.
