A couple’s trip to Nando’s descended into chaos after customers threatened each other with chairs during a furious argument.

Olivia Malone, 24, a marketing executive, and her boyfriend went out for a Nandos at Trafford Retail Park in Manchester on November 13.

They wanted a ‘quiet’ dinner out but their evening soon descended into chaos after a heated argument broke out between an unknown man and woman who were dining separately with their friend and family respectively.

Olivia does not know why the argument started but said they soon began to ‘threaten’ each other with chairs as children in the restaurant screamed in terror. They were caught on camera grappling over a chair before the man let go and the woman continued to ‘wield it like a weapon’- even appearing to try and hit him with it.

Footage then shows two other men, believed to be the man’s friend and the woman’s partner can be seen attempting to calm the rampaging pair before a staff member steps in to break the fight up.

Olivia claimed that staff members kicked both parties out of the restaurant immediately and called the police.

The 24-year-old said: ‘The woman was at a table with her partner and kids and the man was at another table with his friend.

‘I just looked up and they were in each other’s faces saying god knows what aggressively and then they were sort of circling around the table.

‘I couldn’t hear what they were saying, all you could hear was children screaming because it was such a drama.

‘He picked up a chair and then she picked a chair up and that’s when I got my camera out.

‘They were wielding chairs like weapons. They were both as bad as each other.

‘At that point she started picking the chair up and slamming it around. It hit my table that I was sat at and that’s when I stopped recording.

‘She then proceeded to pick a plate up and smash it on the floor before they all got escorted out.’

The 24-year-old said she and her boyfriend were still dining when four police officers arrived to review the CCTV footage.

Olivia said: ‘I’m quite nosey so I’m one of them that’s there with the camera always ready to catch things and trying to see what’s going on.

‘It was a shock. You don’t expect to go for a quiet Nandos on a Sunday as well, the day of rest, and then it’s kicking off.

‘We stayed to eat because they’d already been escorted out and then four cops came to look at the CCTV.’

Nando’s declined to comment on the incident. MailOnline contacted Greater Manchester Police for comment.
