Terrifying footage of Arlington house explosion after suspect fired 'flare gun' inside home causing the blast | The Sun

SHOCKING footage shows a home exploding in a huge fireball after cops swarmed the house while trying to serve a search warrant.

Police in Arlington, Virginia warned that a suspect inside had fired a flare gun from the house before it erupted into flames.

Officers were attempting to execute a search warrant at the home, said police in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

However, they believe the suspect fired several rounds from a flare gun inside the home, causing a subsequent explosion.

Arlington Fire and EMS said units were at the scene to put out the flames.

Residents are being asked to shelter in place as authorities continue to investigate.

Video shared on social media showed the large explosion demolishing the home.

A fireball erupted from the residence as debris jumped from the sky, falling onto the ground.

"I think it blew up the entire duplex," a neighbor told ARL Now.

"I'm sure the family next door was evacuated before it blew up but they lost their home."
