Trans butcher Andrew Miller who sexually abused schoolgirl is jailed

Transgender butcher who kidnapped and sexually abused schoolgirl after luring her into his car during horrific 27-hour ordeal is jailed for 22 years

A transgender butcher who kidnapped and sexually abused a little girl during a horrific 27-hour ordeal has been jailed for 20 years.

Andrew Miller, 53, lured the primary school pupil into his car as she walked home and then trapped her in his house, where he subjected her to horrific abuse.

The girl, who did not know Miller, escaped after waiting until he fell asleep and calling police on his landline.

Miller, who is in the process of transitioning and was the proprietor of a butcher shop, previously pleaded guilty to charges of abduction; sexual assault; watching pornography in the presence of the child under the age of 13; and possessing 242 indecent images of children.

Yesterday, he returned to the High Court in Edinburgh where he was handed a 20-year prison sentence.

Paedophile Andrew Miller abducted and sexually abused a young girl as she walked home

Judge Lord Arthurson described Miller’s offences as ‘abhorrent crimes’ of the utmost ‘deviance and depravity’ which were ‘the realisation of every parent’s worst nightmare’.

The court previously heard how he had approached the child in February this year, just before 6pm, to offer her a lift.

But instead of taking the child home, Miller took her to his house in the Borders, where he discarded her mobile phone.

He then sexually assaulted her in his bedroom over the course of the next 27 hours.

Miller was dressed as a woman at the time and made his victim watch pornography.

During the second evening of her abduction, the child knocked over a glass of water to see if it would rouse Miller, who had fallen asleep in bed next to her.

When he did not stir, she attempted to leave the property but found the door locked.

She then found the landline phone and called police, saying she had been touched inappropriately.

At the time of his arrest, Miller was wearing a bra, women’s underwear, tights and one silicone breast – the other had become dislodged during a struggle.

Miller later told detectives he did not abduct the girl and that it was ‘all a mistake”.

He claimed he stopped to offer her a lift because ‘she was freezing’. He said he put her in bed with him because ‘it was a motherly thing’.

Miller also admitted that he should ‘never have gotten into this situation’ during a six hour police interview.

Following his arrest, three laptops were seized from his property and a total of 242 indecent images of children were found.

His internet history revealed searches for indecent images.

At the time, Advocate depute Lorraine Glancy, KC, said: ‘It is understood that the accused identifies as a transgender female named Amy George and reports that he is in the process of transitioning to a female.

‘At the time of his arrest, he was presenting as Amy. However, prior to interview, he confirmed that he wished to be addressed as Andrew Miller using ‘he’ pronouns for simplicity.’

Miller has been held in the male prison estate following a row over the jailing of transgender rapist Isla Bryson who was sent to a female prison in February.
