Yale University history professor Timothy Snyder said “important Russians think that Russia is losing” the war in Ukraine and are possibly preparing for a “power struggle after Putin falls”. Mr Synder points to foul-mouthed outbursts from Putin’s allies including former president Dmitri Medvedev as a sign. He said: “If Russia loses the war, the people saying radical things now will have protected themselves. “I’m not convinced Medvedev, who for years was seen as the liberal alternative to Putin, believes the antisemitic, anti-Polish, anti-Western hate speech he publishes on Telegram. He’s creating a profile that might be useful later.”

Ukraine destroys FOUR Russian cruise missiles

Ukraine’s air force destroyed four Russian cruise missiles fire at the Khmelnytskyi region, it has been reported.

The forces said the missile had been fired from the Black Sea anc confirmed they were Kalibr cruise missiles.

They said: “Today, on July 24, air defence systems of the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed all four Kalibr cruise missiles launched towards the Khmelnytskyi region from the Black Sea.”

They also added that it was reported that air defence units of Ukraine’s Air Command West had shot down three missiles.

It is believed that the fourth missile was destroyed by the air defence forces of the Air Command South.
