This update comes amid a series of breaks for the beloved show. Even though the latest series premiered earlier this summer, it ultimately took a two-month break between July and September.

The Repair Shop originally premiered back in 2017 but quickly amassed a fan following. The series, which sees cherished family items and heirlooms brought back to life, features a wide variety of experts.

From the “Bear Ladies” Amanda Middleditch and Julie Tatchell, to metal worker and signs restorer Dominic “Dom” Chinea and carpenter and cabinet-maker Will Kirk, some of the transformations have been breathtaking over the years.

And this year the heartwarming reality show ended This Morning’s 12-year winning streak at the NTAs. In his acceptance speech, Jay saluted his fellow experts, who he referred to as his “family.”

The furniture restorer and presenter also opened up to The Guardian about how they have bonded over the years. He explained: “We spend nine months a year filming, all staying in the same hotel and having meals together, so we’ve become like a family.”

He concluded: “It’s terrific to see them getting appreciation on a national, sometimes international, level.”

The Repair Shop airs on BBC and previous episodes can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
