An unruly business class United Airlines passenger was kicked off a transatlantic flight after he started complaining that his meal choice was unavailable.

The airline confirmed that flight UA20 from Houston to Amsterdam was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Chicago because of passenger disturbance on July 9.

Multiple people, both in the air and on the ground once the flight diverted, recorded the man ranting about how he didn’t get his desired meal – saying he was ‘treated like s**t’ after forking out $1,000 extra for a business class ticket.

Flight Radar, which tracks the movements of planes in the air, first tweeted: ‘#UA20 from Houston to Amsterdam jettisoning fuel prior to diversion to Chicago due to an unruly passenger.’

The tracker showed the aircraft doing loops in a holding pattern above Lake Michigan to dump fuel before stopping at O’Hare Airport. Planes jettison fuel as the extra weight can create dangerous levels of strain on landing.

A separate video, filmed in the terminal in Chicago, the unruly passenger is disembarked from the plane and then continues his spat while speaking to United ground staff at the gate

The rowdy passenger was said to be sitting in seat 11G – meaning he was in United’s Polaris Business Class cabin.

He had a lie-flat business class aisle seat with 78 inch of seat pitch, but he allegedly became angry when he was declined his first choice of meal.

Passengers are usually offered full three-course meal in addition to more food throughout the flight. He was only around 2 hours and 30 minutes into the flight before he was forced to disembarked.

The decision to divert the aircraft and remove the man, who was recorded harassing staff and other passengers, was made before the Boeing 777-200 was over the Atlantic Ocean.

After the flight was refueled, the passengers were able to continue their transatlantic flight to Amsterdam.

The journey from Houston to Amsterdam was meant to take 9 hours and 30 minutes, but this was lengthened after the disruption from the man in business class.

We got to stop in Chicago to let this super nice guy off the plane. He continued to laugh and antagonize the United crew after these, and they handled it with such calm! #unitedairlines #unitedairlinestiktok #amsterdam #chicago #houston

The man then was seen rolling his suitcase and carrying his rucksack as he followed the authorities through one of the terminals at O’Hare Airport

Through the unclear audio, the man can be heard saying, while standing up from his seat in business class: ‘I’ve been a United flyer for a long time.

He said: ‘You know what, f**k you..’ before becoming muffled again.

He continued to rant at the flight attendants, although it’s unclear what point he was making: ‘I don’t want to comply with anything because…whenever the government and the regulations tell me, that’s where I need to be.’

The man then yells: ‘You’re a douche. You know it though. You know you’re a douche.’

He was then heard, in a mocking tone: ‘I’m going to stand up for the airline!’

In a separate video, filmed in the terminal in Chicago, the unruly passenger is disembarked from the plane and then continues his spat while speaking to United ground staff at the gate.

He said: ‘I am a regular traveler like everybody else, but I decided because I have injuries that I’m going to take a 9.5 hour flight to Amsterdam, and I’m going to pay the extra $1,000.

‘And all I wanted to do was get a meal.

‘You can take me wherever you want. Am I under arrest? What are you going to do? Who are you anyway?’

Referencing the fact he was recording to ordeal himself, he added: ‘I would love for you to be on Fox News.

‘Why do you think that one of your flight attendants is able to decide that I don’t get to be treated like everybody else?’

He then pats the police officer on the shoulder and tells him twice: ‘I love you’.

As the United staff continually tried to get him to move into a private room, he kept saying: ‘I don’t like the way your airline treated me, so why should I…’

He could then be heard complaining about how he spent $1,000 both ways from the US to the Netherlands ‘..to get treated like s**t and booted off a plane.’

United Airlines confirmed to DailyMail.com: ‘United flight 20 from George Bush Intercontinental Airport to Amsterdam diverted to O’Hare International Airport and landed safely following a passenger disturbance.

‘Law enforcement met the aircraft at the gate and escorted the passenger off the plane. The aircraft then continued to Amsterdam.’
