FREDDIE FOREMAN was one of the most feared gangsters in the 1960s and was an enforcer of the infamous Kray twins.
Ronnie and Reggie Kray has a close relationship with Freddie throughout their reign, though Foreman has since described his time working with them as his "biggest regret."
Who is Freddie Foreman?
Freddie Foreman was born on March 5, 1932, in Battersea, London.
He became a convicted gangster and was once known as the Godfather of London.
He was linked to countless murders as a member of the Kray twins' gang, known as The Firm, and served a total of 16 years in prison.
Foreman was born into poverty and began a life of crime in his early twenties by selling stolen goods.
Eventually, he earned enough to finance a business empire which included a string of betting shops, a casino and a nightclub.
Freddie married his wife, Maureen, and at one point the couple lived in a five-bedroom house and enjoyed luxury holidays with their children.
They had three kids together; Jamie – who went on to be an actor starring in EastEnders – Gregory and Daniella.
All three of their children were educated at boarding school.
"We had a good life – the best education, best clothes, cars and holidays abroad. I was proud of what I achieved," Foreman told The Sun in 2023.
What crimes has Freddie Foreman been convicted of?
Foreman was sentenced to nine years in prison in 1990 for the then-record £7million Security Express heist.
He had been on the run since the heist in 1983 but was snatched by Spanish cops in the Costa Del Sol and taken back to Britain.
The dad-of-three was also convicted of helping the Kray twins dispose of the body of one their victims, Jack "the Hat" McVitie.
McVitie died after he was stabbed by Reggie Kray in 1967.
Foreman received ten years behind bars after confessing to the crime in a TV interview.

When did Freddie Foreman work with the Kray twins?
Freddie Foreman was introduced to the Kray twins in the early 60s through their elder brother Charlie.
Speaking to The Sun in 2018, Freddie recalled: "Charlie was a great friend of mine, he kept saying, you must come round to meet the twins.
"I wasn't over eager – they had a bit of a reputation."
After finally meeting them, Foreman established a firm friendship with the twins and became known as their enforcer.
Foreman and the Krays' gang ruled the streets of East London for a large part of the 60s.
After all three were imprisoned in 1969, Foreman's lucrative association with the twins ended.
Reggie Kray killed McVitie in a dispute over money, and Foreman, while initially charged with murder, was ultimately convicted for his part in disposing of the body and sentenced to ten years.
Reggie was handed a life sentence for killing McVitie, while Ronnie was jailed for the murder of George Cornell.
Ronnie died at the age of 61 in 1995, while Reggie passed away in 2000.
Reflecting on his time with the Krays, Foreman said: "They were the curse of my life."
Where is Freddie Foreman now?
As of 2023, Freddie Forman is living in a nursing home in London.
His wife passed away in 2015.
Freddie is thought to not have much money left and is estranged from his family.
