A British woman has died in hospital after she and her elderly mother were mowed down by a hit-and-run driver in Tenerife.
The victims were described as a mother and daughter when police launched their search for the motorist last Sunday.
The pair were hit around 8.30pm when a white van mounted the pavement as they walked along the path in an area called Las Chafiras in the south of Tenerife.
The incident happened close to a nearby residential estate in San Miguel de Abona, south of the Spanish Isle.

On Friday, December 16, it was revealed that the younger of the two women, the most seriously hurt, who was aged 50, had died in hospital from her injuries.
She died on Thursday afternoon at Our Lady Of Candelaria University Hospital.
The woman was said to have suffered severe head injuries when she was rushed to a hospital in the island capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife after being struck.

The older woman, who was in her mid-seventies, has already been released from hospital.
Police are still hunting the driver, said to have stopped briefly at the scene before speeding off after seeing the victims lying hurt on the ground.
