Woman dies after falling unwell outside Slug and Lettuce despite cops rushing to help | The Sun

A WOMAN has died after feeling "unwell" outside a Slug & Lettuce bar.

Emergency services rushed to the venue on Princess Street, Plymouth, in the afternoon on Saturday, February 11.

Eyewitnesses reported that about four police cars and two ambulances attended the scene between 4p.m and 5p.m.

It has been confirmed the woman was in her 70s and died shortly after arriving at hospital.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at 4.25pm on Saturday February 11 following concern for the welfare of a woman in Plymouth.

"The woman in her 70s had become unwell in Princess Street. Ambulance attended and treated the woman at the scene.

"She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced deceased a short time later."

Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
