Fergie reveals granddaughter Sienna’s nickname and labels her a ‘mini Beatrice’

Sarah Ferguson called her granddaughter Sienna “mini Beatrice” as she spoke of being a grandmother during a moving interview.

The Duchess of York, known as Fergie, shared the sweet nickname for the one-year-old during a sit-down chat at The 92nd Street Y in New York to promote her new novel, A Most Intriguing Lady.

The 63-year-oldroyal was married toPrince Andrew for 10 years before their divorce in 1996 – and they share two daughters,Princess Beatrice andPrincess Eugenie.

Fergie is grandmother to Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's one-year-old daughter, Sienna, and Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's two-year-old son, August.

During Monday’s interview with Glamour editor Samantha Barry, Fergie was asked about being a grandmother.

The Duchess, first speaking about her daughters, said: "I love seeing my girls, who are exceptional. Full stop, they're exceptional."

Then, discussing her grandchildren, she added: “Then on top of that, these two little… baby Eugenie, baby Beatrice, they're looking at me with the big eyes.

“They look like my girls. August is teaching me to play trains and diggers. And Sisi [Sienna] is just mini Beatrice, and she gets little pink tutus, because Beatrice likes to dress her up like Barbie."

Elsewhere in the interview, Fergie discussed her close bond with the Queen and how she was caring for the late monarch's surviving corgis.

And asked if she had been invited to theKing's Coronation on 6 May, she joked it was“TBD” – shorthand for ‘to be decided’.

Elsewhere this week, Princess Eugenie, 32,shared a rare selfie with both her sister Princess Beatrice, 34, and their mum in honour of celebrating International Women's Day on Wednesday.

The trio posed for the camera as they took a stroll across snow-covered ground, with a set of beautiful mountains behind them.

Eugenie, who is currently pregnant with her second baby with husband Jack, looked incredibly happy as she appeared in the picture next to the two most important women in her life.

"Happy International Women's Day," the royal captioned her post. "I'm so lucky to have my mum and sister as two incredible women in my life."

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier in the week that Fergie was set to hand out an award at theOscars as she looked to reinvent her image.

The Duchess of York looksincreasingly likely to be attending the glitzy ceremony in LA on Sunday – thanks in part to her close relationship with Elvis Presley’s family.

She was especially close to Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie – the singer and songwriter whodied in January aged 54.

And with the Elvis biopic up for eight awards at this year’s Oscars, it is now thought Fergie will be at the ceremony to give out a gong.

Sources said the planned Oscars appearance was a “big deal” for the Duchess as she looks to revamp her image following scandals in the UK – including her estranged husband Andrew’s continuing ban from royal duties and polite society over hisconnections to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
