GMB: Richard Madeley jokes he’s going cut Richard Arnold’s slot
Good Morning Britain hosts had mixed messages from producers this morning leading Richard Madeley to jokingly threaten to cut Richard Arnold’s time.
Arnold is currently in Australia where he is issuing daily reports on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.
This morning saw him discussing Nigel Farage’s theory that the more tasks he does the higher the percentage of airtime he gets.
However, there was a misunderstanding as he said he’d been told by a producer that he had to cut part of his report.
To his surprise, Madeley chimed in and told him he hadn’t finished yet as he still had to report on the new Netflix show Squid Game: The Challenge.

Arnold had signed off his report, but Madeley cut in: “Before you go, you’ve got news of another reality game show.”
Arnold replied: “Oh yes, well they told me I was all out of my 2.22 per cent (airtime).”
Following the report on the show, which is offering the biggest cash prize in history, Madeley quipped: “Thanks for that extension. You’re now oversubscribed percentage-wise so we’ll cut some of your time tomorrow, I’m afraid. Okay?”
“We’ve got to balance it out over the week.” His co-star saw the funny side of the quip as he laughed and replied: “Okay, Dickie!”
Richard’s remarks came the day after he celebrated his 37th wedding anniversary with his wife Judy Finnegan.

“And actually, we were together for three or four years before that so it’s sort of 40 years. [40 years] of just being under the same roof which is just ridiculous,” he pondered on yesterday’s show.
The couple who met in 1982 when they worked on separate programmes for Granada Television. Both were married at the time but after divorcing their previous partners, they tied the knot in 1986 in Manchester.
Asked how they would celebrate the impressive landmark he revealed that they were going for a posh dinner.
The couple first came to public prominence as the original hosts of This Morning from its inception in 1988 until 2001. They were so popular that the programme was often referred to as Richard and Judy, rather than This Morning.
