This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby has reportedly laid down the law with her co-stars as she told them there was “no room for another scandal” on the show.

The 42 year old star, who recently returned to the ITV morning staple after an extended Summer break was keen to draw a line under the show’s scandal from earlier this year, when former co-host Phillip Schofield quit after admitting to an inappropriate relationship with a junior colleague.

Phillip stepped down from working at ITV altogether in May after admitting to having an affair with a much younger male colleague – a revelation which left ITV in crisis mode as they raced to manage the situation.

Since Phil’s exit, which came after he had spent two decades on the show, no official replacement has been announced by the network, with Holly instead having been joined by a selection of co-presenters including popular favourites Alison Hammond and Craig Doyle.

In the wake of the scandal, This Morning faced a fresh blow this week when they sadly lost out on a coveted National Television Award to BBC rival The Repair Shop.

Yet rather than be defeated by the loss, Holly has instead been looking firmly to the future, with a source revealing to Heat magazine that she was “full of ideas” for how to make the iconic daytime show the best on TV.

Speaking to the publication, an insider said: “She decided to return to This Morning because she loves working on it, and she wants to turn it around."

"She is full of ideas for how they can make the show much more engaging and relevant," they claimed.

"It might come as a shock to some at ITV, but she isn’t going to let anyone stop her running things the way she wants.

"She doesn’t want to dwell on the past, either – she wants to draw a line under it and make it clear to everyone that there is no room for a new scandal.”

As well as her hosting duties on This Morning, Holly will also be returning to our screens in the coming months to present ITV’s popular reality show Dancing on Ice, as a new batch of celebrities take to the ice in the hopes of mastering ice dancing.

This year will mark the first year that Phillip hasn’t presented the show alongside her, although no details have yet been revealed about who will replace him as her co-host.

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVX.
