I’m A Celeb’s Kerry Katona weighs in on Fred and Nella row after losing own dad

I’m A Celeb: Kerry Katona shares thoughts on opening episodes

Kerry Katona has had her say on Nella Rose and Fred Sirieix’s recent row on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

On Tuesday (November 21), the First Dates star found himself embroiled in a heated argument with influencer Nella, 26, after he joked that he was old enough to be her father.

Nella later reminded the 51-year-old that she had previously confided in him about the death of her late father in 2020 and said: “I don’t want to talk to you, I don’t want to be around you. I only allow people to disrespect me once.”

“Don’t bring up my dead parent, are you stupid? ‘You know I could be your dad right?’ You’re a weirdo.”

Previous Queen of the Jungle Kerry, 43, has now waded into the argument and has put her point across on social media.

In stories shared with her 826,000 followers, the mum-of-five said: “I really feel for Nella losing her parents, I do.

“You know I never met my dad before he died unfortunately, but when you watch it you can see that Fred meant no harm by that whatsoever – he really didn’t.”

She added: “He doesn’t look like he has a nasty bone in his body.”

Following Nella and Fred’s argument, many I’m A Celeb viewers have taken to social media to give their opinion on the spat.

One X user said: “It’s a very sensitive topic for Nella so can’t police her feelings, Fred definitely didn’t mean it offensively though.”

A second wrote: “You know Nella Rose is in the wrong when production have decided to show the context. They knew they had to protect Fred.”

“I do feel for Nella. Easy for her to look like she has it all on the outside but seems like she has a lot of unresolved grief to work through.

“Most people don’t have their bad days broadcasted on TV but I hope she reflects (sic) because I think Fred is really genuine,” replied another.

A fourth said: “I appreciate many people are seeing themselves in Nella this morning which is why it’s probably hard to be objective.

“But objectively grief or not, that reaction was uncalled for and she owes Fred an apology. She doesn’t deserve all the abuse, but people calling her out are right.”

You can watch I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! at 9pm every evening on ITV1 and ITVX.
