Meghan Markleis celebrating another year around the sun as she turns 41 on August 4.

The Duchess of Sussex is known for using her birthday to highlight causes close to her andon her 40th birthday she released 40×40.

Alongside a hilarious video, the former actress detailed her plans for asking 40 friends to donate 40 minutes of their time to help mentor women going back into the workforce.

Meghan is conscious that big days such as her birthday put a “spotlight” onto herself and it's thought that she uses the occasions to channel the public's attention on a cause close to her heart.

Speaking toExpress, brand and reputation management expert Eric Schiffer shared his views on how this birthday could look for the Duchess.

“She wouldn't be the first to want to shed attention from her birthday onto the plight of others and that's right out of her textbook today, that's in her playbook.

"That's a tactic that goes back centuries for those in positions of power to bequeath their spotlight to raise up others."

He added: "So yes, I can see Meghan executing in that way."

Last year’s 40×40 video saw Meghan team up with actress Melissa McCarthy for the short video.

The video even included a hilarious cameo from Meghan's husbandPrince Harry, who had Melissa in stitches as she spotted him juggling in the background during the video call with Meghan.

The Duchess told Melissa: "It's my 40th birthday and I've got an idea, because I'm turning 40, I'm asking 40 friends to give 40 minutes of their time to mentor a woman who is remobilising back into the workforce.

"Over 2 million women in the US alone and tens of millions around the world have lost their jobs due to Covid. And I think if we all do it, and all commit 40 minutes to an act of service, it can have a ripple effect."

However her 40th birthday wasn’t all fun and games as her estranged fatherThomas Markle recently spoke about Meghan “ignoring” the giftshe sent her.

Thomas, 78, said he sent her a bouquet of roses, but says he did not get any acknowledgement or response.

According toThe Sun, the red rose bouquet included two yellow roses, one for each of his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

The card accompanying the flowers reportedly read: "Happy Birthday to my bean with much love and a brighter future. Dad."

Thomas was also speaking about his daughter during an appearance on GB News, claiming that the pair haven't spoken since her marriage toPrince Harryin 2018.

He said: "I wished her a happy birthday and brighter days ahead but I've not heard back."
