James Jordan concerns fans as he reveals daughter, 2, is really unwell after illness

Fans grew concerned on Saturday as James Jordan revealed that he wouldn’t be live tweeting Strictly Come Dancing because his daughter was “really unwell.”

The former pro dancer, who was a regular on Strictly from 2006 to 2013, took to Twitter over the weekend to let fans know that he wouldn’t be tweeting his opinions throughout the show.

Each week, James, 44, offers his own professional insight into the show on social media, but after a fan questioned: “@The_JamesJordan where are you….”, the dancer explained his absence.

“Unfortunately guys – Ella is really unwell so won’t be tweeting tonight. Big love to all,” he replied.

The former Big Brother contestant shares his two year old daughter with his wife, Ola Jordan, whom he married in 2003 after dancing together professionally for some time.

James’ statement worried some fans, with one penning: “Hope Ella gets better soon. There's nothing worse than seeing your little one unwell. Sending love to all 3 of you xxx.”

Another person wrote: “Hope little Ella is ok & has you both run ragged again soon poor toots it’s horrible seeing your little ones sick hope you all get some sleep xx.”

“Missing your thoughts on the dances but hope Ella feels better soon,” a third wrote, with a fourth adding, “Hope little Ella will be better soon, bless her. Take care James!”

On Sunday, James revealed that Ella had been ill for a month and is currently battling a nasty ear infection.

Updating fans, he wrote: “Hi guys – thanks for all of the lovely messages about Ella. She’s still quite poorly but doing “better. After 1 month of being ill she now has ear infection in both ears so been tough few days. But she’s a Jordan and a fighter!”

In a separate tweet, James said that Ella is on antibiotics and added: “Tough to watch Ella in so much pain from her ear infection

“She is on antibiotics – Calpol every 4 hours and Ibuprofen every 4 hours but 2 hours later.

“Got through to 111 after 1hour 10mins and they said see doctor in morning.

“She just said to Ola while crying ‘what shall I do?’.”

Lots of fans wished the Jordan family the best, with one fan suggesting that he take his daughter to A&E and others suggesting more holistic approaches.

“We did at 4am this morning – about as good as 111,” the Gillingham-born dancer replied.

Other fans offered advice on dealing with ear infections which later promoted James to thank fans for their support.

“Twitter can be such a beautiful place where so many kind people send helpful messages and support,” he wrote

“Such a shame it’s tainted by a few.”

James added: “Big love to all of you.”
