James Jordan weighs in on Strictly fix row as he slams judges’ scores

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan took to social media last night to give his take on each dance from this year’s crop of celebrities.

The ex-BBC star, 45, appeared to weigh in on the “fix” row surrounding the show, as he accused the judges of planning their scores ahead of time.

He admitted to his 356,700 followers on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he did not agree with a lot of the points awarded by judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas.

“It’s almost like the judges watch the rehearsals – decide their scores – but when things go wrong they don’t know what to do,” he tweeted, as many fans rushed to the comments to agree.

One particularly prevalent complaint seemed to be that Nigel Harman – despite forgetting a large portion of his routine and even admitting to “making up” part of the dance with his professional partner Katya Jones – received a higher score than others who made fewer mistakes.

Echoing the sentiment of many fans, James wrote: “So once again you can mess up the whole routine and get those scores.”

He then added a string of laughing emojis before sharing the judges’ scores (7,7,7,8) and asking: “Do you agree with the judges?”

Giving his own verdict on Nigel’s performance, he wrote: As you all know I’m a massive Nigel fan BUT it was a bit of a dance disaster.

“He’s great when out of frame – WHICH IS NOT FOXTROT. The got to the foxtrot which was none existent unfortunately – wrong steps and off time.

“Didn’t get back in. Shame: 4,” he decided, before adding: “I really feel for Nigel – all that hard work all week. He is great and will come back stronger.” (sic)

Plenty of fans agreed with James, with Alyson suggesting: “Scoring is farcical! Nigel even said ..I’ll have to go wrong more often!! The judges obviously want to keep him in!!” (sic)

Meanwhile, James also disagreed with the judges’ scoring of Layton Williams and his partner Nikita Kuzmin, as they received a near-perfect score of 39.

Commenting on their Salsa, he wrote: “It was a great dance yes – well done. But where was the partnering???

“Maybe he wasn’t able to follow the correct salsa partnering part. Was more of a show dance.

“I’m actually confused no one has picked up on it – Len would have. 6 – no partnering at all.” (sic)

Strictly Come Dancing: The results airs tonight at 7.15pm on BBC One.
