Love Island fans mistake Rita Ora for new bombshell in awkward moment

Love Island fans momentarily thought Rita Ora was the next bombshell when a preview for Tuesday's episode went out on Monday.

Fresh from releasing her highly-anticipated third studio album You & I, the 32 year old pop sensation was seen slow-motioning her way into the villa before catching the attention of this summer's contestants by the pool.

"Tomorrow night, there's a new arrival…" teased narrator Iain Stirling, as shots of Rita and her backing dancers played out.

Over on Twitter, viewers confessed to originally thinking she was entering as a contestant, with several reactions reading: "LMAO I thought they were bringing in a bombshell but it was just Rita Ora [three crying emojis]", "Not me thinking Rita Ora was actually joining the villa", "No way Rita Ora!! For a second thought she was a bombshell" and "Naah I'm dying. I really thought Rita Ora was a new bombshell till I saw her pick up the mic."

"Not me thinking Rita was the new bombshell", "Not rita ora looking like a bombshell walking in on that preview for tomorrow night, i genuinely thought she was" and "not me thinking rita ora was a new bombshell and getting excited for scott," were three more messages on the night.

The Let You Love Me songstress is married to filmmaker Taika Waititi, who gave us the cult vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows and two Marvel Studios blockbusters in Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder.

Speaking about her mindset before meeting the Oscar-winning Kiwi, 47, Rita told The Sun earlier this month: "A couple of my friends had been like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m pregnant’ or ‘Oh gosh, I’m getting married’. Life is happening and everyone is getting older and I felt like it was something that is very relatable.

"People think, ‘Oh well, what about me?’ I thought it was a vulnerable and insightful position for me. I think it connects us – especially girls and women and the social pressure we feel we have to reach."

She officially confirmed that they'd tied the knot a few weeks after the event during an appearance on Heart Radio, where she informed presenters Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden after much speculation: "Yes [I am married]. I am officially off the market people.

"I chose to keep it more private and keep it to myself more but with my new [music] video I am playing on what could have been. When the rumours came out – is she, isn't she? I wanted to play on it.

"I wanted to do a wedding that didn't go to plan… that's not to say that is actually what happened."

Gushing about their secret ceremony, Rita went on to recall: "It was perfect. It was exactly, exactly how I wanted.

"It was nice and perfect. It is nice to keep some things just to myself sometimes. It was nice and sweet… Sorry it's not that interesting. One day I will throw a big party."
