MAFS’ Jenna breaks silence on Thomas’ ‘sickening’ comments as he issues another apology

Married At First Sight UK star Jenna Robinson has broken her silence after her former co-star Thomas Hartley issued a second statement following “sickening” comments he made on a recent podcast.

Thomas, 31, appeared on Cool FM's What's Happenin' podcast and his conversation with the hosts included a number of horrific jokes abut Jenna's late father.

Following a backlash from fans and co-stars alike, he apologised on Instagram and said he accepts “full responsibility” for the incredibly offensive comments.

Thomas also told his followers that he regretted the situation.

Now Jenna, 32, has had her say. On Saturday afternoon she posted on her Instagram Story and described Thomas’ statement as “yet another stab in the back”.

She also claimed Thomas had not shown “an ounce of response or respect" in his apology.

Jenna wrote: "Thank you to those of you who have reached out to check in on me. It really means a lot.

"Honestly I'm struggling a little with what I've heard. And although for them it's a laughable joke at my expense, I'm now having to deal with the aftermath of my family potentially hearing what I've heard and I'm trying my best to prevent that from happening."

She added: "As for the so-called public 'apology' it's yet another stab in the back. Not an ounce of remorse or respect and just to add I've had no personal apology either."

In his own statement, with the Pussycat Dolls’ track Buttons playing in the background, Thomas said: “I sincerely apologise for any offence I caused on the podcast. It wasn’t right and I did ask for it to be removed and it wasn’t.

“I take full responsibility and honestly completely regret the situation and what I said.

“I am honestly so sorry for any pain caused to anyone. I did ask for the parts to be removed. There’s no excuse. I was out of order massively. I will live eternally with regret.”

In a second statement, he later added: "The lines between comedy and insensitivity were massively blurred. I was genuinely too comfortable and said the complete wrong thing".

Thomas has since claimed that he has been the victim of death threats from people on social media over the situation, with him saying in a post: "It's safe to say I've had some very dark thoughts."

He said he will take a break from social media for a few days and added that he "can't eat" and "can't sleep" due to the reaction. He further commented: "This is really bad.”

OK! has contacted Thomas’s representative for any further comment.
