Meghan Markle once wrote about her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, in her now-defunct blog, The Tig, where she spoke about the fantasy of becoming a princess.
Despite marrying into arguably the most well-known family on the planet, Kate and Meghan were often put at odds with the general public as the British media compared the two.
Since Meghan’s exit from Royal life in 2020 alongside her husband, Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have gone on to release a highly controversial Netflix show, Harry & Meghan, alongside numerous allegations in Harry’s memoir, Spare.
But back in 2014, when Meghan was still portraying Rachel Zane on Suits, she ran a lifestyle website that covered subjects like food, fashion and beauty in her own words.
Meghan's blog was named after her favourite Tignanello wine, which she previously described as an “ah-ha moment at its finest.”
In one resurfaced entry, Meghan commented on the royal wedding between Kate and Prince William, which happened a few years prior in 2011.
She penned: “Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power.
“For those of you unfamiliar with the '80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength.
“We're definitely not talking about Cinderella here.”
Meghan, who is slated to attend the coronation of King Charles later this year, continued to explain that many women carry over the princess fantasy into adult life.
She continued: ”Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy.
“Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”
The mum-of-two shut down The Tig in April 2017 when her relationship with Harry became more serious, and it was even reported she was considering her exit from Suits.
Addressing her fans, she said at the time: “To all my Tig friends.
“After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it's time to say goodbye to The Tig. What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity. You've made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being "the change you wish to see in the world."
“Above all, don't ever forget your worth – as I've told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough.”
Her acting career came to a close shortly after announcing her engagement to the young Royal.
