Metallica To Reissue First Five Albums On Colored Vinyl Outside The U.S

Metallica have announced that their first five albums in beautiful colored pressings are making their way to international stores.

UMR/Mercury are pressing 11 of Metallica’s studio album back catalogue on custom colored vinyl for the first time outside North America.

This series of colored vinyl was previously available in the United States through a collaboration with Walmart in January 2021.

Phase one will see their first 5 albums being released one by one each month beginning from November 2023. Phase two of the remaining 6 titles will be released throughout 2024.

Metallica’s debut album, Kill ‘Em All (1983), will be released on November 3. It will be pressed on 180g ‘Jump In The Fire Engine Red’ limited edition colored vinyl, featuring the 2016 remastered audio.

The heavy metal band’s second album, Ride The Lightning (1984), will be pressed on 180g ‘Electric Blue’ limited edition colored vinyl, featuring the 2016 remastered audio. It is set for release on December 1.

Metallica’s third album, Master Of Puppets (1986), will be released on January 5. It will be pressed on 180g ‘Battery Brick’ limited edition colored vinyl, featuring the 2017 remastered audio.

The fourth album, …And Justice For All (1988), will be released on February 2. It will come pressed on 180g ‘Dyers Green’ limited edition colored vinyl, featuring the 2018 remastered audio.

The self-titled 1991 album Metallica, which is the final instalment in the first phase, will be released on March 1. It will be pressed on 180g ‘Some Blacker Marbled’ limited edition colored vinyl, featuring the 2021 remastered audio.
