‘Anything to get on a ride quickly!’ Petra Ecclestone larks about in a wheelchair as husband Sam Palmer jokes about her plan to skip the queues during family outing to theme park

Petra Ecclestone appeared in a playful mood on Thursday as she larked about in a wheelchair during a family trip to Chessington World of Adventures.

In an image shared to husband Sam Palmer’s Instagram page, the socialite, 33, was seen sat in a wheelchair as a young boy pushed her from behind.

And Sam, 38, was quick to joke that his wife was keen to skip the theme park’s long queues as he quipped: ‘Anything to get on a ride quickly!’

While much of Sam’s followers saw the funny side to Petra’s antics and commented with laughing emojis, one took offence at her actions, commenting on the post: ‘Not cool’.

With another sharing: ‘People are going to lose their s**t over this!!!!!’ 

Elsewhere, another seemed genuinely concerned for the star, adding: ‘Wheelchair is she ok.’

MailOnline have contacted Petra’s representatives for comment. 

For those with a physical disability, Chessington World of Adventures provides a Ride Access Pass, which they state is a ‘system we have in place to help guests who require extra assistance or are unable to queue due to a condition or disability. 

‘This allows them access to the rides via a queuing system for themselves and up to three people (one of which must be age 14+).’

They add: ‘The Ride Access Pass removes the need for our guests to wait within the main ride queue lines, and enter by a dedicated entrance for Ride Access Pass users.’

Petra appeared in great spirits as she beamed to the camera, with the beauty keeping her look casual in a white T-shirt, grey leggings and a purple baseball cap.

Meanwhile, amid the fun and games with their family, both Sam and Petra found time to pen heartfelt messages to each other as they marked their five-year anniversary as a couple.

The pair, who tied the knot in a lavish London ceremony last month, both shared a selection of stunning snaps from their big day as they declared how much they meant to each other.

Sam wrote: Happy Anniversary @petraecclestoneofficial. 5years and many adventures later. I Love you ❤️.’

While Petra gushed: ‘Happy anniversary @sampalmerofficial. thank you for the happiest five years of my life.’

It comes after on Monday her former Formula One boss father Bernie, 91, denied fraud over an alleged failure to declare to the Government more than £400million in a trust in Singapore. 

Bernie was charged after a probe by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), which would have allowed the business magnate to draw a line under any previous tax irregularities, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard. 

He is accused of failing to declare a trust in Singapore with a bank account ‘containing around $650million US dollars’.
