Piers Morgan brands Elton John ‘one of b****iest people in showbiz’

TalkTV host Piers Morgan has taken to Twitter today to blast Elton John and his husband David Furnish in view of his 8.4 million followers.

Piers, 58, retweeted a segment of a Sky News interview with David, 60, where he spoke about Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling’s stance on transgender issues.

The writer’s opinions on the matter have become infamously divisive, with many members of the transgender community speaking out against her.

Sky News tweeted earlier today: “David Furnish tells Sky’s @BethRigby he doesn’t agree with or approve of JK Rowling’s views on transgender issues.

During the interview, David diplomatically addressed the author’s stance on transgenderism.

He said: “I have tremendous admiration for what J.K. has done with Harry Potter and how she has made so many children rediscover the joy of reading, and brought families together in a way that no one has done for a very, very long time.

“I don’t like to see any community singled out, or stigmatised, and I think when you have a platform like she has, if I was in her shoes, I would direct it towards doing what I do best, which is bringing people together my through my work and through my art, and my culture.”

Piers wasn’t too impressed by David’s answer, slamming him afterwards on social media.

He tweeted: “What a gutless response, basically telling @jk_rowling to shut up and stop defending women’s rights.

“As for Saint Elton always looking to spread love and inclusion, he is legendarily one of the b****iest people in showbiz…” he added dramatically.

Express.co.uk has contacted Elton and David’s representatives for comment.

Rowling first sparked outrage back in June, 2020, when she responded with a mocking tweet to a news headline that referred to “people who menstruate”.

“I’m sure there used to be a word for those people,” she wrote at the time.

“Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud.”

While her comments offended many, Piers was one notable celeb to defend her, later describing her tweet as “funny and entirely justified”.
