The former ‘America’s Got Talent’ contestant celebrates his wife’s courageous fight against the disease after she passed away ‘peacefully’ while sleeping at home.
AceShowbiz -Ray Singleton is mourning the loss of his wife Roslyn Singleton of brain cancer. The former “America’s Got Talent” contestant announced on Wednesday, November 16 that his wife succumbed to the disease after battling it for years.
Taking to his Instagram page to announce Roslyn’s passing, Ray celebrated his wife’s courageous fight against cancer. “WELL DONE!!” he wrote along with images of his late wife flashing her infectious smile. “Our wife earned her wings yesterday while peacefully sleeping right at home where she wanted to be.”
“This road ahead is going to be INCREDIBLY long & difficult! She taught us all SOMETHING…,” he went on paying tribute. “She’s where we’re all trying to get one day so no need to be sad! Now we celebrate her legacy, her impact, her story & HER SPIRIT! She will LIVE FOREVER!!”
Roslyn, a navy veteran, was first diagnosed with stage three brain cancer in 2013, several years before she met Ray. She went back for annual scans and got a healthy report for six consecutive years. But on October 10, 2019, just a couple of weeks before their first wedding anniversary, she learned that her cancer returned.
The couple remained optimistic throughout her treatment, documenting their journey on social media. Ray captured the hearts of millions after videos of him serenading his ailing wife went viral. It landed them on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show“, which then led to “America’s Got Talent” reaching out to Ray about auditioning for the show. He appeared in season 16 of the NBC competition series in 2021, but did not make it to the Quarterfinals.
Following the news of Roslyn’s passing, Ray’s post was flooded with messages of condolences. “Love y’all! And yes, she lived the most beautiful life! Im so incredibly inspired by you both. If you need anything, please lmk,” one follower wrote to him.
Another mourner said, “My sincere condolences to you and your family! I’ll be praying for you all!” A third echoed the sentiment, “My deepest condolences to you and your family. You are an amazing person.” Writer and civil rights activist Shaun King added, “Love you so much brother. Thank you for sharing her with the world.”
