Aldi fans racing to get their hands on a goodie box with pizza, loads of veggies, fruit & pastries – it’s such a bargain | The Sun

FOODIES are scrambling to Aldi to bag a massive box filled with heaps of goods – and it costs just over a fiver.

Known for their low prices – and amazing dupes – Aldi has become a go-to for many shoppers.

But now savvy bargain hunters have discovered an easy hack which lets you go home with piles of food without forking out a fortune.

This game-changing discovery was shared by mum Lauren Rachael Vaughan, from Manchester, who took to Facebook to reveal the trick.

According to the fan, it's all because of an app that not only will save you heaps of cash but will also help to tackle food waste.

''Just got all this for £6.60 off Too Good To Go from Aldi. (2 boxes, one for me and one for my mum),'' the shopper wrote in the post.

''Came with around 6 pizzas, loads of cake and pastry’s, veg, fruits, chicken fajitas and some tinned stuff [sic].''

Rachael urged fellow foodies to not sleep on this app, writing: ''Highly recommend! Ours went on sale at about 5.15pm to collect at 9.25.''

Amongst the bargain finds were two cheesy pizzas, eclairs, broccoli florets, seedless red grapes, strawberry trifles, a mouth-watering pie, as well as vanilla mousse to name a few.

The post, uploaded to the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Group, has since gone down a treat, racking up close to 2k likes in less than 24 hours.

Looking for more apps to slash your costs? Here are some of our favourites.

No Waste

The free No Waste app lets you scan your food and organise it by expiry date, name or category.

This makes it easier to do the next shop as you can easily see what you are running out of.

Lists can be shared with family so you can give away unwanted food plus you can track how much you are wasting by deleting items you have eaten or that have expired.

The app will tell you how much of your food you have eaten each month and how much money you have saved or wasted.

Olio

Are you going on a diet or did you over order items in your latest shop? You can share unwanted food for free among your neighbours using Olio.

Food shared could be nearing its sell-by date, spare home-grown vegetables or the groceries in your fridge when you go away, move home or are on a diet.

You can also share non-food items such as furniture, clothes, toys, household and beauty products.

Users take a picture of the item, post it to the app and then agree where and how it should be picked up with anyone interested.

The app is free for households but businesses have to pay for a service that will take unsold food and distribute it to them.

Almost 10 million portions of food have been shared through the app, which has 2.6 million users worldwide.

Karma

Similar to Too Good To Go, Karma lets hungry households rescue unsold meals from businesses at a discount.
