'I had no idea my stop-gap job in a sausage factory would lead to meeting the love of my life' | The Sun

WHEN Mica Keeble started working in the local sausage factory in her early twenties, she had no idea the stop-gap job would change her life forever.

Incredibly, what was only ever supposed to be a temporary role turned into so much more – after she found love over the production line while packing up sausages.

What followed was an absolute banger of a romance which began to sizzle over sausage sarnies, and Mica, 27, and her husband Roddy, 28, now live in North Yorkshire near Bedale.

The happy couple have one daughter Winnie, 18 months, and another on the way, due in March.

From college, Mica – who also played young Charity Dingle in Emmerdale in 2019 – had worked in a sweet factory previously, before landing a full-time job at Heck in 2018.

Her role involved working on and managing the production line in the HECK sausage factory, managing quality control and helping to pack up the sausages.

She says: "I was 22 when I started working in the factory full-time.

"It was only supposed to be a stop gap job really as I was acting too, and the hours were really flexible which was perfect for going to auditions in Manchester and London.

"It was a laugh – there was a lot of gossiping, singing and dancing, and we didn't have any customers to deal with.

"I certainly didn't expect it would lead to getting married and starting a family!"

While it was love at first sight for Roddy, Mica confesses she made him work hard to win her round.

She says: "I pied him off quite a lot initially! He was the bosses son and I didn't want to get myself into trouble.

"I just kept myself to myself in the beginning, but he worked a few late shifts with me and would insist we needed to get something to eat."

After a year of wooing, Mica finally succumbed to Roddy's charms and they went on their first official date.

Mica says: "He really grafted and made me sausage sandwiches, and on our first date we drove to the seaside in one of work's trucks and went on the horses."

The romance got off to a sizzling start, and Roddy went on to propose with a diamond sparkler over fish and chips in the local pub.

The pair finally tied the knot in front of 250 guests in 2019 in a beautiful ceremony, and they made sure to pay homage to the unique way they met.

Mica says: "Bangers and mash were obviously on the menu!"

The pair then welcomed daughter Winnie in June 2021, despite Mica's fears she would struggle to have children after being diagnosed with endometriosis, and now they're expecting their second daughter in March.
