A WOMAN said she gave in and finally purchased pieces from Skims, but she was very disappointed by the fit.
Content creator Pau Torres did a small shopping haul from Skims, but found that a viral dress that many find flattering on most body types surprisingly didn’t look good on herself.
“I folded. I ordered from Skims for the first time,” Pau said in her TikTok video.
Sharing something many of us can relate to, she said: “You have no idea how long I’ve been seeing Skims videos on my ‘For You Page’.
“I just never bought anything. But I finally did. I bought a dress,” she added.
“Let’s see what the hype is about,” Pau said, before changing into the piece.

She wore the Soft Lounge Long Slip Dress in Heather Grey. The modal and spandex fabric piece sells for $78.
Pau asked: “Is it me? Am I the problem?”
While many of her followers thought the figure-hugging maxi dress looked amazing on her petite and curvy figure, Pau was very weary about it.
She twirled in the dress while rolling her eyes and looking unimpressed.

“I wanted to love it a lot more,” she said, adding: “I think it’s me. I think it’s my body that’s not built for this.”
Pau explained: “I have hip dips so since it really hugs your curves and stuff, it’s hugging [them].”
She grazed her hands over her waist, hips, and her hip dips – slight indentations at the top of her legs – to show how the dress emphasized her insecurity.
She held her hand up to her mouth and looked like she was embarrassed and wanted to cry.
“I also think I had very high hopes. They were a little too high up,” she exclaimed.
“I don’t hate it, I just feel like my body’s not built for this,” she said of the famous dress style.
Pau’s followers showered her with compliments though, saying she looked great in the dress.

Others related to her insecurity, with one person writing: “I feel u about the hip dips but you still look amazing.”
And another suggested that the grey color may be why the dress looks unflattering to Pau. “Sis, maybe it's the color? I think it would look so much better in black,” they wrote.
