I worked in Tesco, there’s a rule we all have to follow at the checkout but sometimes it goes very wrong | The Sun

MANY businesses believe that great customer service is the key to success and the saying goes that a happy customer always comes back.

But it turns out that might not always be the case.

Louisa used to work in Tesco and she said her manager gave her one tip for working on the shop floor.

“When I used to work in Tesco, my manager told me that I should try and start a conversation with everybody who comes through my till.”

Louisa’s manager believed this friendly approach might be beneficial to some customers, particularly those who hadn't spoken to anyone else all day.

“Because you never know, it might be the only person that they're talking to that day.”
