A HOME expert has revealed how they use three of their household items in a new way once they’re done with them.

TikTok user Kate, who can be found at @my_plastic_free_home, dedicates her social media account to sharing eco tips and DIY tricks for the home.

In one of her recent posts, Kate shared how she reuses and recycles tights, socks and toilet roll cardboard holders.

In the caption, she explained: “[Here’s] 3 things that you can reuse around your home that you might not have thought about before.”

Kate then went on to show how she upcycles each of the items, giving them a new purpose in her home.

Kate then said that not only does it cut down on your plastic use, but it will also save you money in the long run. 

She continued: “This is great because you don’t have to buy bobbles anymore, which are plastic too.”  

Similarly, Kate also showed how you can give your “old, holey socks” or odd socks a new lease of life.

The social media star told her 14,5000 followers: “You can reuse your old socks by turning them into the perfect hand dusters.

“Honestly, I don’t know why dusters aren’t made like this anyway. It’s so easy to dust using them and great for keeping dust off of your plants too.”

Lastly Kate demonstrated how old toilet rolls make the perfect seedling pots so you can grow your chosen plant at home.

“Just cut slits into the end, fold them up, pop your soil in, add your seed and away you go!”
