ARE you looking for new and inventive ways to slash your food bill each month?
A money-saving mum has come up with her own set of rules that she says are super easy to follow – and have shaved off a whopping £300 from her groceries every four weeks.
TikTok user Nicole Mcshane, who can be found at @mrsnicolemcshane, told her followers that her batch cooking and other budgeting ways also meant she only had to do a big shop once every six weeks.
She said: “Let me share with you how we have saved around £300 a month by batch cooking.”
The video then showed Nicole making a list of all of the family’s lunches and dinners for the week, including family favourites like tacos, fajitas, spaghetti bolognese and chilli.
She continued: “So today is prep day – I’m making a list of all the meals we’re going to make, and all the ingredients we’re going to need.”

Nicole then said that her family have swapped trips to the supermarkets for a mooch around their local market, and she’s seen the difference straight away.
She went on to say: “We had off to the market. The market is more sustainable, better quality food and a lot cheaper than the supermarket.
“We get everything we need for the next six weeks’ worth of lunches and dinners cost us around £62, which is amazing.”
She later revealed that another top tip she’s learnt over the years is to always have the same meals so that she knows the ingredients back to front.

“We still spend the same on our treats, just our grocery bill is a lot less.”
