I'm a plastic surgeon and here are five cosmetic procedures I would NEVER have done – including the viral BBL | The Sun

A PLASTIC surgeon has taken to TikTok to share the five cosmetic procedures she would NEVER have done – including the viral BBL.

Doctor Kelly Killeen revealed that while some might queuing up for rhinoplasties and thread lifts, she’ll be avoiding them due to the various risks and long healing times.

In a new TikTok, the surgeon, known online as @kellykilleenmd, said: “Here are my top five procedures, and a bonus sort-of procedure, that I would never have done as a plastic surgeon.

“So number one is low-hanging fruit. You probably all guessed it, it is a Brazilian butt lift.

“This is a procedure with the highest death and complication rate of any elective cosmetic procedure.

“I don’t like the weird skeevy hero worship culture of the surgeons that perform a lot of this surgery.

I thought a BBL would give me a confidence boost – it was traumatising

“I think it has a weird ick factor for me. I would never, ever do it.

“Number two, this is going to probably p*** off some of my facial plastics colleagues, but I would not do an upper lip lift.

“We all get it, we want a bigger upper lip, but the scar’s not worth it for me.

“I can see it in every single patient, even the ones that claim their scars aren’t seen.

“I can see it, I don’t like it. Everybody knows what you’ve had done. Not for me.

“I also don’t like how it can rotate the wet part of the red lip out and cause kind of permanent weird texture and scaling of the upper lip. Would never do it.”

Another tweakment the cosmetic surgeon admitted she wasn’t a fan of – the trending Fox Eye Thread Lift.

She continued: “Number three, the fox eyebrow lift. It looks weird.

“I would never have a surgical procedure done on my face for a trend that’s probably going to be out in a few years.

“Learn how to make your eyebrow do that thing on its own by shaving the end. Work on your eye makeup techniques, not permanent.

“I would never do that procedure.

“Number four is going to be massive fat grafting to the breast.

“I know I do a lot of fat grafting to the breast, but if you need that much fat in your breast to do what you want to do, you’re just at a higher risk for complications like cysts and fat necrosis, contour deformities where you’ve been lipo-ed all over.

“And fat just doesn’t have the structure of an implant or breast tissue, so you end up with kind of a dumpier-looking breast and I just would never do that.

“Number five, a rhinoplasty. I know, I love rhinoplasties, they’re such amazing surgeries for the right person, but for me personally, the things I don’t like about my nose are not huge, they’re easily addressed with a liquid rhinoplasty.

“And I don’t think I could personally tolerate a year of swelling and the unpredictable swelling that comes with a rhinoplasty.

“And finally the not-surgery-but-a-procedure I would never have – a thread lift on anywhere.

“They look okay when you’re static. When you’re in motion you can see the pull of the threads.

“There’s all kinds of weird complications from infections to extrusions where they come through your skin.

“I just would never have a thread lift done, I think it’s kind of an awful procedure honesty.”

Fans loved her honesty, with the video gaining more than 152,000 likes and 1.7 million views.

In the comments, TikTok users shared their reactions, with one writing: “I didn’t know that about BBLs. Why are they so dangerous?”

Another said: “Thank you for this, I’ve thought about threads off and on multiple times but now I'm def not going to get them done!!"

A third wrote: “I wanted a lip lift because I have NO upper lip (and I want less filler) but the surgeon I went to also said the scars aren’t worth it.”
