WHEN it comes to themed décor throughout your home, there is a fine line between classy and tacky.

According to interior design experts, a few simple changes can make your home look chic and expensive.

Interior designer Mariah, who runs Vybe Interior, posted a TikTok where she explained the difference between tacky and classy décor.

In her video, Mariah discussed why you should opt for a concept style rather than an all-out theme when it comes to decorating your home.

She explained that heavily-themed rooms are only acceptable in a child's bedroom.

"Here we have two beach-themed rooms, super cute for kids. We see the oars, we see the hibiscus flowers, the flippers. We are ready for the beach, ready to go swimming," Mariah said.

She continued: "But this is more of a theme. When you want to bring in more of a concept style into your home, you can bring in natural materials from the beach."

Instead of utilizing on-the-nose themed items such as oars or flippers, Mariah recommends purchasing more subtle items such as pompous glass vases.

She also recommended featuring feathers throughout your home as opposed to hibiscus flowers.

To achieve a casual yet classy beach concept, Mariah also suggested adding some rattan staples throughout your home.
