The easiest way to carve out your Halloween pumpkin in seconds and it makes no mess | The Sun

AS the October school holidays are in full swing, some of us will be getting into the Halloween spirit with our little ones by carving pumpkins.

However, it’s a messy job and one that can take ages to clear up after if you’re not methodical.

The first step of any pumpkin carving session is to remove all the pulp and seeds from inside – but this is the messiest part.

Experts at AO have shared their “game-changing” hack for deseeding a pumpkin that will cut the amount of cleaning you have to do in half.

They recommend whisking the inside to loosen the pulp and seeds for easy removal.

"Start by cutting a lid at the top of your pumpkin that's big enough for your whisk attachment,” Thea Whyte, small appliance expert at AO, says.

“Make sure to cut at an angle so that the lid doesn't fall inside the pumpkin when you remove it.

"Attach the whisk attachment to your stand mixer or alternatively you can use a hand mixer and slowly feed the open pumpkin under the whisk like you would a bowl.”

If you are using an electric whisk or mixer, set it to a low or medium-low speed to keep the mess contained.

"Turn off the mixer and lift the whisk up to remove the seeds collected by it,” Thea continued.
